Why should I take an Immersion
course?
Good question! Well, we are very experienced in One-to-One immersion courses
and in fact are a group of teachers who have come together for this purpose.
We have kept our administrative costs to an absolute minimum and this
is represented in the attractive cost of our courses. Please feel free
to look at other courses before committing to us. You'll be pleasantly
surprised!
Also, you have our absolute guarantee that your teacher and family will
be friendly and welcoming and that your course will be professionally
designed and taught. In addition your teacher's home will be very comfortable
allowing you to learn in a relaxed atmosphere.
We have received a large number of students from every part of the world
and many of these like to return to us regularly. If you would like to
confirm our reputation we can arrange for a contact with students who
have already taken courses with us.

What is the difference between
a professional course and the others?
If you use or need English in your professional activities then we recommend
that you take a professional course with us. Professional courses are
designed to present English in a way that is suited to your activities
and relevant for your purposes. The teacher does not try to teach you
what you already know but instead encourages you to use English in a way
that is relevant and useful for your professional activities. For example,
if you choose a general English course this tells us that you do not want
English for your professional activities and you want to improve for general
purposes such as travelling, conversation etc. It is important that you
do not overlook your professional needs, if relevant.

What happens when I reserve
a course by e mail?
Immediately we receive your reservation we will check to confirm that
the course dates you have chosen are available with a sutiable techer
to match your profile. If the dates requested by you are not available
then we will offer you some alternatives for your consideration.
Assuming everything is fine then we will send you full details of the
teacher recommended for your course, a form to complete and details concerning
payment. You must pay 10% of the cost of the course with your booking
and the balance is payable two months before the course is due to commence.

What's included in the course
fee?
The course fee payable to Immersion includes:

home;
-One-to-One tuition for the hours selected by you and confirmed;

Do I have to stay with the teacher
and family?
While we recommend that you stay with your teacher and family for a true
immersion experience, we understand that you may wish to have your own
independent accommodation. If this is what you prefer we can provide accommodation
in a Hotel, B&B or Guesthouse or as you prefer. Please contact us
and we can provide you with full details including location, cost etc.

When should I make my travel arrangements?
We strongly recommend that you check with your travel company to make
sure that there is availability BEFORE making a booking for a course.
Once we have confirmed availability in writing you should arrange to pay
a 10% or €150 (whichever is greater) course deposit and immediately
make your travel arrangements. Don't forget to arrange travel insurance
at the time you make your travel arrangements in case you have to cancel
or another emergency arises.

Can I contact my teacher by e-mail?
Yes of course. We will match you with a suitable teacher and family and
once your course has been confirmed we ask you to contact your teacher
directly to introduce yourself, discuss the course, travel arrangements
and anything else which is relevant. We will provide you with a full description
of your teacher, family and location. All our teachers are on-line and
easily contactable by e-mail. Your teacher will welcome hearing from you.

Do I need insurance?
Absolutely yes! This is essential and so important that
we need confirmation from you that you hold a comprehensive travel insurance
policy before finalising your booking. Hopefully you will not need to
make a claim but imagine if you couldn't travel after having paid your
course fees! How would you pay for medical bills if you had an accident
or became ill while in Ireland? These are relevant considerations and
most unlikely to happen. Nevertheless, you would be very unwise to travel
without proper insurance. Policies of insurance are easily purchased from
any reliable travel agency or directly from any insurance company. You
will also need cover for any damage which you might accidentally cause
while in your teacher's home so please purchase a policy if you don't
already have one for your protection.

What if I have a problem while
I'm in Ireland?
We are here to help and assist you at all times.
You will be provided with a 24 hour telephone number for emergencies.
For non-emergencies you must contact us as soon as possible and we will
do all we can to solve any problem you may have.
top
When is my course confirmed?
Once we have informed you that your proposed course is available and received
your Booking Form with the appropriate deposit or full payment within
60 days for your course we will send you confirmation of your course.

Can you give me some travel information?
As Ireland is an island you will have to take a flight or ferry to reach
us! Fortunately Dublin is well served by Irish and international airlines
but you should book early especially in summer.
Dublin Airport
is easily reached from all major cities in Europe. If you are travelling
from Asia you may have to travel via London, Amsterdam or Paris. Your
travel company will advise you on the best way of travelling to Ireland.
Most European, US, and some Asian airlines serve Dublin Airport.
Irish airlines - Aer
Lingus and Ryanair
- have many daily connections to Europe and the U.S.
Dublin Airport is located about 6 kilometres north of Dublin city. There
are numerous coaches
and buses to the
city. The airport is well served by taxis.
Dublin is also a major port with frequent ferries to the
UK. There are also ferries to the UK and France from Rosslare in the south
east of Ireland.
The most convenient way to travel is by plane.

When do courses start and finish?
One week courses start on Sunday evening after 17.00 hours and finish
on the following Saturday morning.
Courses of 2 weeks or more start on Sunday evening after 17.00 hours and
finish on the Saturday morning of the final week. You can always depart
on Friday evening if this suits you better.

Do I need to do anything before
arriving?
Yes you should make sure you let us know your travel arrangements at least
one week before you arrive. You should also contact your teacher to provide
details of your flight number including flight arrival and departure time.
This will allow your teacher to make plans to expect you. This is vital
if you have paid for airport transfers.
top
Do I need to bring anything with
me?
Please ensure that you bring all relevant study materials with you so
that you can discuss these with your teacher. If you are taking a professional
course you should bring any relevant documents relating to your business
as this will assist your teacher in designing a course appropriate to
your particular needs. It is also important that you bring a good dictionary.
Also don't forget to bring warm clothes including some rain gear. You
will be provided with towels but you are expected to bring your own soap,
hair shampoo, etc. Don't forget an adapter for your electrical items!
top
Will I improve my English?
Certainly if you resolve to speak English as much as possible, follow
your teacher's advice and above all enjoy the course! Your teacher is
a professional and remember you will be the only student!
You will be pleasantly surprised!
