Why should I take an Immersion course?

Good question! Well, we are very experienced in the One-to-One sector and in fact are a group of tutors who have come together for this purpose. All our tutors are fully qualified English language professionals who hold internationally accredited teaching qualifications.
We have kept our administrative costs to an absolute minimum and this is represented in the attractive cost of our courses. Please feel free to look at other courses before committing to us. You'll be pleasantly surprised!
Also, you have our absolute guarantee that your tutor and family will be friendly and welcoming. Furthermore, your course will be professionally designed and presented. Your tutor's home will be very comfortable allowing you to learn in a relaxed atmosphere.
We have received many students from all over the globe, many of whom return to us regularly and refer others to us. We will try to assist if you would like to make contact with a student who has already taken a course with us.

What is the difference between a professional course and the others?

If you use or need English for your professional activities, we recommend that you take a professional course with us. Professional courses are designed to present English in a way that is suited to your activities and meets your professional needs. The tutor does not try to teach you what you already know but instead encourages you to use English in a way that is relevant and useful for your professional activities. On the other hand, if you choose a general English course this tells us that you do not want English for your professional activities and you want to improve for general purposes such as travelling, conversation etc. It is important that you do not overlook your professional needs, if relevant.

What happens when I reserve a course by e mail?

Immediately we receive your reservation we will check to confirm that the course dates you have chosen are available and that we have a suitable tutor to match your profile. If the dates requested by you are not available, then we will offer you some alternatives for your consideration. Flexibility with your course dates is really helpful in placing you with the most appropriate tutor.
Assuming everything is fine then we will send details of the tutor recommended for your course, a form to complete and details concerning payment. We ask you to pay 10% of the cost of the course or €250 (whichever is greater) with your booking and the balance is payable two months before the course is due to commence.

Do I have to stay with the tutor and family?

While we recommend that you stay with your tutor and family for a true immersion experience, we understand that you may wish to have your own independent accommodation. If required, we can help you find accommodation in a hotel, B&B or guesthouse. You may already be resident in Ireland and need lessons only. If this is the situation we will be delighted to arrange lessons for you - please contact us.

When should I make my travel arrangements?

We strongly recommend that you check with your travel company to make sure that there is availability BEFORE making a booking for a course. Once we have confirmed availability in writing you should arrange to pay a 10% or €250 (whichever is greater) course deposit and immediately make your travel arrangements. Don't forget to arrange travel insurance at the time you make your travel arrangements in case you have to cancel or another emergency arises.

Can I contact my tutor by e-mail?

Yes you can. We will match you with a suitable tutor and family and once your course has been confirmed we ask you to contact your tutor directly to introduce yourself, discuss the course, travel arrangements and anything else which is relevant. We will provide you with a full description of your tutor, family and location. All our tutors are on-line and easily contacted by e-mail. Your tutor will welcome hearing from you.

Do I need insurance?

Absolutely yes! This is essential and so important that we need confirmation from you that you hold a comprehensive travel insurance policy before finalising your booking. Hopefully you will not need to make a claim but imagine if you couldn't travel after having paid your course fees! How would you pay for medical bills if you had an accident or became ill while in Ireland? These are relevant considerations even if they are most unlikely to happen. Nevertheless, you would be very unwise to travel without proper insurance. Policies of insurance are easily purchased from any reliable travel agency or directly from any insurance company. You will also need cover for any damage which you might accidentally cause while in your tutor's home so please purchase a policy if you don't already have one for your protection.

What if I have a problem while I'm in Ireland?

We are here to help and assist you at all times.
You will be provided with a 24 hour telephone number for emergencies. For non-emergencies you should contact us immediately and we will do all we can to solve any problem you may have.

When is my course confirmed?

Once we have informed you that your proposed course is available and received your Booking Form with the appropriate deposit or full payment within 60 days for your course we will send you confirmation of your course.

Can you give me some travel information?

As Ireland is an island you will have to take a flight or ferry to reach us! Dublin is very well served by Irish and international airlines but you should book early especially in summer.
Dublin Airport is easily reached from all major cities in Europe. If you are travelling from Asia you may have to travel via a connecting airport. Your travel company will advise you on the best way of travelling to Ireland. Most European, US, Middle Eastern and some Asian airlines serve Dublin Airport.

Irish airlines - Aer Lingus and Ryanair - have many daily connections to Europe and the US.
Dublin Airport is located about 10 kilometres north of Dublin city. There are numerous coaches and buses to the city. The airport is well served by taxis.

Dublin is also a major port with frequent ferries to the UK. There are also ferries to the UK and France from Rosslare in the south east of Ireland.

The most convenient way to travel is by plane.

Do I need to do anything before arriving?

Yes you should make sure you let us know your travel arrangements at least one week before you arrive. You should also contact your tutor to provide details of your flight number including flight arrival and departure time. This will allow your tutor to make plans to expect you. This is absolutely necessary if you have paid for airport transfers.

top

Do I need to bring anything with me?

Please ensure that you bring all relevant study materials with you so that you can discuss these with your tutor. If you are taking a professional course, you should bring any relevant documents relating to your business as this will assist your tutor in designing a course appropriate to your particular needs. Also don't forget to bring warm clothes including those appropriate for rain. You will be provided with towels but you are expected to bring your own soap, hair shampoo, etc. Don't forget an adapter for your electrical items!

top

Will I improve my English?

Certainly if you resolve to speak English as much as possible, follow your tutor's advice and above all enjoy the course! Your tutor is a professional and remember you will be the only student! You will be pleasantly surprised!
